If you love to get outdoors, hike, and explore spectacular Idaho mountains, you have come to the right place.
Whether you are a day hiker, backpacker, or an outdoor novice looking to get outside with your family, Hiking Idaho has the guidebooks to help you discover Central and Southwest Idaho.
If you are heading to the Salmon River, Sawtooth, Pioneer, White Cloud, Boise, West, Owyhee, or Smoky mountains, our guidebooks will help you discover the best hiking trails in the area. All of our guidebooks have been hiked, written, and published in the last 5 years by the same author, Scott Marchant, giving you the most up-to-date trail information available. Our guidebooks are filled with relevant information, great maps, outstanding photography, and inspirational text.
Unusual to most guidebooks, all of the Hiking Idaho guidebooks include a portion of the relevant 1:24,000-scale topographic map(s) for each hike. The maps (also known as 7.5-minute quadrangles) were produced by the U.S.G.S. and are the most detailed maps available. The maps allow you to visualize the topography and design off-trail adventures. All of the books also include excellent black-and-white photography so you can get an idea of the scenery you will see.
