Topographic Maps and Photographs

Unusual to most guidebooks, all of the Hiking Idaho guidebooks include a portion of the relevant 1:24,000-scale topographic map(s) for each hike. The maps (also known as 7.5-minute quadrangles) were produced by the U.S.G.S. and are the most detailed maps available. The maps allow you to visualize the topography and design off-trail adventures. All of the books also include excellent black-and-white photography so you can get an idea of the scenery you will see.
