The Hiker’s Guide Greater Boise will guide you on 50 hiking routes offering a wide range of destinations and treks. Whether you are searching for green forests, hot springs, riparian zones, tumbling waterfalls, peculiar rock formations, glacial lakes, or wind-swept ridges and mountain peaks, you will find them all here. Throughout the course of researching the book, Scott had the pleasure of hiking each trail, many of them more than once. One of the great rewards of traveling all of the routes is the chance to learn the landscape intimately— what makes one canyon or mountain different from another, and how they may be similar. As a result, you will find descriptions of topography, vegetation, scenery and wildlife, all based on experience. Some of the most amazing scenery near Boise awaits you. Enjoy the journey.

The Hiker’s Guide to McCall & Cascade
Author and avid hiker Scott Marchant released his third book, The Hiker’s Guide to McCall & Cascade in the Summer of 2011.
Scott hiked every trail mile in this book, with the purpose of conveying accurate information on each trail.
Excerpt: “An old timer who has hiked many of the trails in the mountains outside of McCall and Cascade probably said it best, ‘If you explored the many trails that I have ventured on in these forests, you would consider it a blessing to live in McCall.’ This Idaho native could not have been more accurate.”
The Day Hiker’s Guide to Sun Valley & Ketchum
Published in 2010, The Day Hiker’s Guide to Sun Valley & Ketchum describes 50 hikes located in the Big Wood River Valley which is blessed with three diverse and dramatic mountain ranges – a paradise for hikers. The wildlife rich Smoky Mountains, the glaciated Boulder Mountains, and Idaho’s second highest mountain range, the Pioneer Mountains, provide a myriad of hiking opportunities for those who pass through this beautiful landscape.
The Day Hiker’s Guide to Stanley, Idaho
