Dogs are fantastic hiking partners providing owners with a companion, a sense of security, and a bonding experience as they both enjoy the wonderful outdoors. But to others, Fido can be an enemy when they intimidate other hikers, chase wildlife, and tarnish the wilderness experience with barking and fouling the trails.
Keep pets under control at all times. This includes restraining your dog from pursuing wildlife and barking incessantly at other trail users. Carry a leash and be prepared to use it when necessary. Pack a pick-up bag and make sure you clean up after your dog.
